I am tickled to enter my first SugarSketch Challenge at SPD!
I have to say that coloring is not the most challenging part of card making for me. It's the layout! I did take a valuable piece of advice from Wendy at SPD. She told me not to color and then look for paper to match. Start with some paper and colors that I like, and THEN color. (I think this will save me money in the long run! LOL!)
I am also learning that participating in a challenge, relieves me of some of the difficulty of coming up with a card design! Hooray!
I made this card with the SugarSketch Challenge 17 in mind.
I will admit that I am not completely happy with it. After I inked the sentiment and turned it toward the card to line it up, the stamp fell off the acrylic and landed right where you see it!!! You could probably hear my gasp of terror halfway down the street! I am trying to just be happy with the card, but I will not ever be happy with the placement of the sentiment!!
Isn't this sailor girl just the cutest? For this card I used the following:
- Down By The Shore paper pad by Fancy Pants Designs
- Ahoy Sailor stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
- Circle Stackables dies from Lawn Fawn
- Die-Namics Well Worn Greetings die from MFT
- Die-Namics Sea Charms die from MFT
- Gift Tag Die by SugarPea Designs
Such an adorable card and I love your paper choice. I admit that I giggled at your description of the sentiment falling off the block…I think we've all been there before. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing in our SugarSketch17 challenge!!
